Recovering data

Both /work and /home file systems are snapshotted daily, i.e. their state is saved daily as a backup mechanism. Note however that any modification made between the snapshot and the data loss is lost. If a user deletes inadvertently any data, they can be recovered from these snapshots.

The snapshots are located in /home/.snapshots and /work/.snaphosts for the /home and /work file systems respectively. You can access them just as regular folder and copy the files/folders you need. In the .snapshots directories, the last 14 daily snapshots are stored in a folder corresponding to the snapshot date in the YYYY-MM-DD format.
