End of year retrospective#
As 2023 comes to an end, we wanted to share with you this short message summarizing this (almost) past year. From the computational point of view, 2023 was outstanding! The service was used by 1200 unique users coming from 135 labs. Around 131 million core-hours and 236'000 GPU-hours were used on the machines. Among them, 7.2 million core-hours and 19'000 GPU-hours were dedicated to students and the 19 courses that used our infrastructures.
The user community required our assistance for 857 incidents that we tried to solved as best and quickly as possible. We are very grateful to say that ~91.5% of them were very satisfied and ~6.4% of them were satisfied by our user support.
The SCITAS team has provided different courses and workshops during the year. More specifically, the parallel programming courses for master (MATH-454) and PhD students (PHYS-743), the introduction to Python for the MARVEL "Des atomes aux ordinateurs" summer camp, and various personalized courses for lab researchers.
Finally, we would like to thank you for this year of computations and wish you all the best to you and your close one for the next year. Please, note that there will be no interruption of the service during the Christmas break. Don't hesitate to contact us by writing an email to 1234@epfl.ch if you have any issue.
